Kargo Xpress ready to commencer its inaugural flight to Kuching, Sarawak, scheduled on 10 June 2021.

MMAG Holdings Berhad (MMAG) (Stock Code: 0034), a company listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia through its subsidiary, M Jets International Sdn Bhd (M Jets) which operates Kargo Xpress had successfully obtained the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia on 8 June 2021.

The AOC is a prerequisite certificate for M Jets to operate commercial air transport in Malaysia.

With the inaugural flight to Kuching, Sarawak which is scheduled to be on Thursday, 10 June 2021, MMAG is set to complete the logistics supply chain with first mile, middle mile and last mile delivery as it envisions to be the nation’s first local full-fledged integrated supply chain management company from the private sector with its own air cargo services.

M Jets will manage its own cargo business and ground handling operations via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) as its base hub to improve cargo handling efficiency and effectiveness. The company will be commencing its operations with its current B737–400F aircraft scheduled charter to serve both Sabah and Sarawak as a start to better support its growing customer base in the nation and to enhance the cargo freight services to the underserved areas.

M Jets also targets to induct an additional one B737–400F and two 2 B737–800F aircraft by the end of 2021.

“Ultimately, M Jets aims to set-up a Tier-1 Cargo facility in KLIA to provide a comprehensive range of cargo handling services which are customizable and will serve as a dedicated storage facility for our customers, integrated with enhanced 24/7 security and CCTV monitoring systems,” stated Kenny Khow, Executive Director of MMAG.

“Other than that, in view of the current pandemic whereby medical and biosecurity related logistics catering to products such as medicines, test kits, vaccines, PPE, and other high value and electronics products are in crucial need, MMAG strives to extend our assistance and support in the cold chain and required supply chain management to help Malaysia and its surrounding countries in the fight against Covid-19 in which we are in the capacity and capability to do so. We also hope that Malaysians will be proud of us as the very first private home-grown end-to-end logistics company and continue to trust us by supporting MMAG to handle your logistic needs. In return, we will strive to provide timely and reliable services while ensuring high customers’ satisfaction.

Furthermore, the current demand for air cargo is driven by e-commerce, postal services, transhipments and industries requiring high-value logistics services and undoubtedly the present surge in demand has also been compounded by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. M Jets expects to see its annual cargo volume grow from 43,200 tonnes in 2021 to 104,400 tonnes in 2025, representing a 142% growth in 5 years,” he added.
