KUALA LUMPUR (20 JUN) — I was asked to wear Amazfit Bip 3 Pro watch when I exercise yesterday. My exercise consists of weightlifting and cardio, which is mostly the 10 floors in the fire escape stairwell to and from my apartment to the gym. I have used smart watches of other brands.

From the picture on the packaging box, it looked similar to an Apple iWatch and after unboxing, it really does look like an Apple iWatch. The light weight, slim black watch easily paired to my iPhone via the Zepp app. The silicon band was a pleasant surprise, comfortable on the wrist, I’m hairy. During my workout, I forgot I was wearing the Bip 3, it was that comfortable. No hair pulls.

There is a Strength Training mode, which measures the standard vital signs, heart rate, personal activity intelligence (PAI, which I got the definition from the AmazFit website), calorie displacement and time splits. After looking at my lifting session statistics, I took the watch to the pool. I showered and checked the watch, to ensure it was still working. In the pool after two laps, it appeared to be tracking my swim accurately. 10 floors up the fire escape, in my apartment, I opened the Zepp app to review my workout. The app provided the standard time splits such as Sessions, Total time, and Calories (burned). Further details within the workout included Average Heart Rate, Total set interval time, and Max heart rate.

The Zepp app provides management features such as what to show on the homepage; Running, Cycling, Walking, Watch face Store, Incoming call, App alerts, Vibration and Alarm. Other features in the app are Find device, Friends, Target setting and Device Application Settings.

Bip 3 series come with 1.69” LCD screens. Changing the clock dial was easy and according to the product webpage, there are 50 plus watch faces, editable watch faces and widgets, and use your own photos.

This watch has a big battery for such a small watch, and it comes with built-in GPS.

The Bip 3 Pro is one of many watches and trackers from Amazfit. What I thought would be a quick peak at their website, took around an hour looking at just five of the smartwatches. I intend to take a look at all of the different styles and functions. AmazFit seems to have a smartwatch to fit the beginner to advanced athlete.
